Coach Trip is a Reality Television show shown on Channel four in the UK. The show’s format is composed of four to seven groups of two undertaking a coach tour predominantly of continental Europe ( but with individual series including sojourns into North Africa and Western Far East ). The tours have typically lasted thirty or fifty days ( Celebrity Series tours have usually lasted ten days ), with passengers remaining on the tour only till they’re ejected by their companions to get replaced by a new couple. The visitors are accompanied by tour guide Brendan Sheerin. Unlike most coach trips the passengers vote for who they hate travelling with at the end of every day. Whoever gets the most votes is awarded a yellow card, if they’re voted for again they receive a red card and are sent home to get replaced by another pair.

Yellow cards have been infrequently awarded to couples due to timekeeping issues ; Red cards have also been presented to couples sometimes, though when this is done it is usually the results of certain traveller’s unacceptable behaviour, canvassing for votes or even more timekeeping issues. On day nineteen of series 2 the voting rules were amended once after disclosing the quiz winners and losers so competitors cannot vote for the winning couple and the losing couple loses the likelihood to cast votes against others. Also on day twenty-four of series three and day twenty-five of series six the voting rules were amended once after the statement about the red fear which also returned from day five to day nine of celebrity coach trip, whoever receives the most votes will immediately be given a red card. This regards of which couple who already got a yellow card or not. Also from day two of series five the voting rules were amended so competitors can’t vote for the couple who got a yellow card the day before. The latest rule to the voting system that is yet to occur will be competitors who didn’t receive any votes at all of the day before loses the opportunity to cast votes against others next day and another that is yet to occur will be contestants who were disqualified from the activity loses the opportunity to cast votes against others.

If Brendan thinks the couple canvasses for votes, overtakes the prior vote, starts a fight at the vote or shows tasteless sexual behavior they may mechanically receive a red card and the vote will either begin or continue without them.
